New e-learning course: Biomedical Data Management
A new e-learning course on Biomedical Data Management has been developed through a collaboration between Immo Wille (ETH Library), Natalia Chicherova (Data Steward at NEXUS Personalized Health, ETH Zurich), and Julian Dederke (ETH Library).
Using the real-world mTorus project as a case study, the course shows how biomedical research data, samples, metadata, experiments and analysis results can be organised and connected across the research data lifecycle. Participants are also introduced to LabKey Server and can explore practical workflows through examples, open-source code and a demo environment.
The course is a great example of how data stewardship expertise, RDM knowledge and digital learning design can be combined to provide discipline-specific support for ETH research communities. It can also facilitate the onboarding of new researchers in biomedical research and at NEXUS.
This new module was developed as part of the Data Stewardship project ‘DSETHZ 2.0’ funded by the swissuniversities Programme Open Science II.
